Saturday: Travel Day

We arrived in Kearney, NE! It was a long day of traveling today. We left at 6:00 AM from Bethel after Ron and Shelba loaded us up with Sunny Ds, bananas and Oostburg Bakery. We made good time and had a great trip. The only downside was finding one of our vans was without AC. The guys were good about it - shirts off and windows down:). It was hard to talk due to the noise, but the air flow made it more tolerable. After lunch just outside of Des Moines we were able to make our way to our hotel in Kearney by early evening. The girls relaxed in their room and the guys hit the pool before we headed over to the Chicken Coop Bar and Grill for supper (we had to eat somewhere where we could watch the Bucks game!) Our waiter was very nice and he made sure the game was on several screens for our group, and let's just say... everyone in the restaurant knew which team we were cheering for:). I can't say the girls were quite as excited, but we had good conversation while we ate. Afterwards, we headed back to the hotel (La Quinta Inn and Suites) for some down time and to watch the rest of the game. I'm not sure how many of you watch basketball, but I will say it was fun to be in the guys room to watch the last few minutes of game 7 and then watch the Bucks win in overtime:) Tomorrow morning we are meeting at 9:00 for devotions before beginning our 6 hour journey to Colorado Springs. For those of us in the van without AC, we are praying for a cloudy day. Thank you for all your prayers! We will do our best to keep this blog up-to-date throughout the week ahead!
Getting ready!
Departure day has arrived!!
Reminded of God's promise...
Crossing over the great Mississippi!
Eating at Raising Canes
Finally arrived at our hotel
The guys being guys:)
Ready to head to the Chicken Coop for dinner and the Buck's game!
Our waiter was great and so was the food.  A great time of fellowship.
What a great game! Did you hear we missed the end of regulation and the shot that led to overtime?  That's right. Programming was interrupted to let us know there was a thunderstorm warning.
Celebrating after the Buck's win.  It should also be mentioned that the girls did turn on the game for the last little bit before turning back to Criminal Minds:)
